What changes the price of olive pickle
The olives
Whether the olives are grown in Pakistan or imported, their variety, and how carefully they are sorted all change the cost. Sliced olive pickle also takes more handling than pickle made from whole olives.
Dry or in oil
A dry pickle and a pickle packed under oil are different products. Oil adds weight and cost, so compare like with like: a heavier jar of oil-packed pickle isn’t necessarily more olive.
Jar size
Small jars always cost more per gram. Working out the price per 100 g, as in the table above, is the fairest way to compare two jars.
What’s in it
Ours is made with olives and traditional spices and preserved with vinegar and salt. Artificial colour and filler ingredients bring the price down, so read the ingredients as well as the price.
